yeah, on my msn, it says this as my nn "~☆~自由~☆~...[no regrets]...{770 cranes}|81 wrappers|...MAC or WATERLOO?? ...are you a carrot, an egg or coffee beans?"
and the story goes for this....i think the first part in chinese is freedom. well yeah....that has a story in itself...so does that no regrets part...and so do the cranes...so does mac and waterloo part...and you are probably questioning what the carrot, an egg or coffee bean have to do with n e thing.
well i was listening to a chinese station...as i always do in the car with my daddy, and then the broadcaster tells this story.
"there was once this very wise mother that had a daughter. she really wanted to teach her daughter a few life lessons before she was tooo old to even tell them. she knew that there was no better way to teach a lesson than to show an example. so she takes three pots, and starts boiling water. in one pot, she puts a carrot in it. in another pot, she put an egg, and in the other pot, she put coffee beans in it. at this time, the daugther comes down, and she says, 'mommy, why are you making sooo much for breakfast? is that soup for tonight? why are you making sooo much cofee?' then the mother replies, 'oh honey, it's not ready yet, just wait for another 20 mins okie?' so after 20 mins, the mother's message was complete. so she takes out the carrot and the egg, and she asks the daughter to touch and hold the carrot and egg. the daughter thought this was a weird request, but, she obeys and held the carrot. the daughter goes, "oh, that's gross, it's utterly mushy!=.=' and the mother was like, 'okay, now hold the egg, try to crush it.' so the daughter does, and she says, 'wow, the egg is really hard.' then the mother says, 'now daughter, go to the third pot and open the lid and tell me what you see.' the daughter opens the third pot, 'wow mom, it smells delicious!!! and look at all that rich coffee!!' then the mother says, 'this is a life lesson honey. do you know what i am trying to teach you?' the daughter obviously confused goes, 'huh? i don't understand. how can this be a life lesson?' so the mother tells the daughter to sit tight and just open her ears. the mother says this to the daughter, 'in the first pot, there was the carrot. we will say the pot of hot water is adversity okay? so we put the hard, firm carrot into adversity, and what happened to it? it collapsed in the pressure, it couldn't handle it. it just allowed adversity to control it. in the second pot, we put the egg. it became firm and hard. so in this manner, there are some people that when put into adversity become all bitter and cold and 'strong' in the view of the world. but you loose sensitivity and sometimes human compassion for others. then there was the third pot. in this, i put coffee beans. and look what happened to the pot. not only did the third pot not fold under the pressure, it spread all the goodness out into the pot. so daughter, do you understand the lesson now? who do you want to be? you want to be the carrot, the egg or the coffee beans sweetie?' and the daughter goes, 'i think i understand mommy. i don't know if i will ever be the coffee beans, but i sure will try to be that pot of coffee!!'
yups, that's the end of my story. just thought it was cute....hahahaha....
what will you be? will you be the carrot? the egg? or the coffee beans?
